It’s in the Name | What does your name say about you and your life path?

A big part of personal development is getting to yourself on various levels, emotionally, spiritually, physically and beyond. In my quest to get to know myself, I looked at the meaning of my names (First and Last Name). Names carry a vibration and a life path. I also looked at numerology. Our names, date and times of birth have clues about who we are.

In this post, I will share some of my findings about my name and share my favorite free resource to begin the journey of getting to know yourself.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives you context about who you are, why you behave the way you do, why you like the things you do, why you face the challenges you face and so much more. It may even lead to helping you find your passions and what you are called to do on this journey called life.
  • When you don’t know yourself, you can end up working against yourself. But, when you know yourself, you begin to work with yourself, your innate abilities as well as your limits.

My Name

My name in Hebrew is Devora which means bee. Deborah or Debbora in the bible was described as a prophet, a heroin, a judge, a charismatic counselor, an advisor, a writer and a poet. I know that these are more general ideas of my name and some names do not appear in popular literature like the bible. However, there is a free tool/website that has every name you can think of and it looks at each letter of your name to then identify your life path, your life challenges, your spirit animal, the color that best suits your name, the plant and so much more.

The Free Tool: Name Echo

Here is a little unexpected fun fact that I discovered from this exercise, I remember posting on Instagram about 2 years ago that I feel so happy and alive when I wear pink. It turns out, pink is my color.

I highly recommend doing this exercise. I even recommend looking up your last name. When you finish comment on this post to let me know what you found and how do you feel about your findings.
